Turkish man the world’s tallest, according to Guinness World... [ Today's Zaman : Domestic ]
Sultan Kösen, at 2 meters 46.5 centimeters (8 feet 1 inch), holds the Guinness world record for tallest man. He is about 10 centimeters taller than previous title-holder Bao Xishun.

Young Civilians nominate colonel-releasing judge for Guinness [ Today's Zaman : Domestic ]
The Young Civilians, a civil society group known for its use of sarcasm in protests, has nominated a judge who on Wednesday ruled to release Col. Dursun Çiçek, who was arrested late on Tuesday on suspicion of drafting an alleged plan to undermine Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), for the Guinness Book of Records, alleging that anyone who could read the weighty case materials that quickly must be the “world's fastest reader.”
